Donna's fourth grade classroom looked like many others I had seen in the past. The teacher's desk was in front and faced the students. The bulletin board featured student work. In most respects it appeared to be a typically traditional elementary classroom. Yet something seemed different that day I entered it for the first time.
My job was to make classroom visitations and encourage implementation of a training program that focused on language arts ideas that would empower students to feel good about themselves and take charge of their lives. Donna was one of the volunteer teachers who participated in this project.

Eddie Arcaro dreamed of becoming the world's greatest jockey but after watching him ride a horse for five minutes, reality reflected a harsh contradiction. He was awkward and clumsy, and in his early years in the saddle he couldn't do one thing right.
He was left behind at the post, he got trapped in traffic jams, he got bumped and boxed in. In his first 100 races he never even came close to winning. Still, he got right back on and tried again. Even as a schoolboy, Arcaro had set his own track in life. Because he was only a little over five feet tall and weighed barely 80 pounds, the other students shunned him. So he played hooky instead, hanging out at the local race track where a trainer let him gallop the horses.

Last Saturday, 16th of May 2009, happens to be a great day for me and all Manchester United fan all over the world. The GREATEST team in the world claimed its third Premiership title in a row and also equaled Liverpool F. C.’s history of winning eighteen (18) League championships.
It was amazing seeing United lift their fourth trophy this season, starting with the Charity Shield. I couldn’t help but stand in awe of these great achievements as the players celebrate another trophy. I was watching with excitement when the interview session came and I got a glimpse of how the Great Sir Alex Ferguson brought the team this far from the humble beginning.
I have always believed behind every successful achievement, there are underlying factors and I got proved right when Sir Alex was interviewed. Let me state this, before the arrival of Fergie, as Sir Ferguson is popularly refered to, United has gone several years without touching the League trophy. They have always being also runs in the league and Liverpool has always being the leader of the pack.

An impossible dream at a time came to a little black child living in an orphanage in Troy, New York. Her name was Dorothy Brown. When Dorothy was five years old, she was taken to a hospital for tonsillectomy.
Most youngsters would have been frightened, or at least apprehensive, but Dorothy wasn't. She was fascinated by the wondrous world of medicine in which she found herself. People helping other people by relieving pain, setting broken bones, curing diseases. Then and there, Dorothy Brown decided that some day she would be part of that world. She was only five years old, but she set a goal for herself: Eventually she would become a doctor.
